Passenger/Light Duty Vehicle Inspection Standard - July 2016 Updates (MTO-2016) - 1 lesson
The requirements that a used vehicle must meet to pass Ontario’s provincial safety standards are being revised for the first time in over forty years.

Starting July 1, 2016, updates through the Passenger/Light Duty Vehicle Inspection Standard, known also as Regulation 611 of the Ontario Highway Act, come into effect. In addition of a new road test, July 1 sees revised rules to inspections for Powertrain, Steering and Suspension Systems, Brake Systems, Body, Instruments, Electrical, Tires/Wheels and coupling devices.

Hosted by Ministry of Transportation Inspector Bob Lickers, these live broadcasts will help explain the changes to the Passenger/Light Duty Vehicle Inspection Standard. Throughout the live broadcast, participants will be able to interact with Inspector Vickers to ask questions via toll-free telephone, email, Twitter or Facebook.

Approximately 33,000 technicians at more than 12,000 stations across the province of Ontario are qualified to perform Motor Vehicle Inspections. These inspections are required when registering a rebuilt vehicle, transferring a used vehicle to a new owner, registering a vehicle coming in from another province, or changing the status of a vehicle from ‘unfit’ to ‘fit.’

Registration for this live session is free of charge for all existing CARS OnDemand subscribers.
